Courses

How long do I have to finish?

As long as you need. The week counts are a suggested pace. Your lessons stay in your account and the skills check doesn't expire.

What's in each course?

Every course starts with short "Before you start" reading lessons on your rights and responsibilities: service animals, emotional support animals, leash and licence rules and safety, for both the US and Canada. Then come the training lessons, each with step-by-step practice, troubleshooting tips and a clear goal. Every lesson ends with a short quiz, and the course finishes with a skills checklist.

How much time does it take each day?

About ten minutes. Each lesson is a short read with an animated diagram of the steps, and one exercise. Short, frequent practice works better than long sessions.

My dog is older. Is it too late?

No. Everyday Manners and Loose Leash and Recall are made for adult dogs, including ones with a few years of habits.

Do you use punishment or special collars?

No. Everything is reward-based. You won't need a prong, choke or shock collar for anything we teach.

Can I take more than one course?

Yes. Courses work well together, for example Puppy Foundations followed by Loose Leash and Recall. You can buy them one at a time or save with a bundle. A bundle includes the courses listed on it when you buy; courses added later are sold separately.

My dog is reactive or aggressive. Is this right for us?

Calm on Walks is made for dogs who bark or lunge on leash. If your dog has bitten someone, or you're worried they might, please work with a veterinary behaviourist or certified behaviour consultant in person. Our course can sit alongside that help, but it can't replace it.

The skills check and certificate

How do I get the certificate?

Finish every lesson, then go through the course's final skills checklist. Tick each skill once your pet can do it reliably, and the certificate is issued straight away.

What if my pet can't do every skill yet?

That's normal. Go back to the lesson for that skill and practise a few more days. The checklist stays open with no time limit, and you can come back to it whenever you're ready.

Does someone check the skills?

No. You confirm each skill yourself, and the certificate says so. It records that you completed the course and its checklist.

Is the certificate a service dog certification?

No. It's a certificate of completion for the course. It isn't a service animal or emotional support animal certification and doesn't give access to housing, flights or shops anywhere in the US or Canada.

How can someone check my certificate?

Every certificate has a number. Anyone can enter it on our verify page to see the pet's name and breed, the course and the date it was issued.

Payment

What currency are prices in?

US dollars. If you pay with a card from another country, your bank converts it at its own rate.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per course and your access has no time limit.

Is tax included?

If sales tax applies to your purchase, it's shown on the payment page before you pay.

Can I get a refund?

All course sales are final, so please read the course overview and lesson list before you enroll. If you were charged twice or can't get into your course, contact us and we'll fix it. This doesn't affect any rights you have under consumer protection law where you live. See the refund policy.

Do I need a password?

No. You sign in with your Google account, so there's no separate password to remember.

Still have a question?

Tell us a little about your pet and we'll point you to the right course.
