Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use this site or buy a course. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. Who we are
("Treatwise", "we", "us") is operated by , a business based in . You can reach us here:
2. Who can buy
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a course. Younger people can take part in training with a parent or guardian who holds the account. You sign in with your Google account, so keep it secure. Your account is for you and the pets in your household.
3. What you get when you buy
- Access to every lesson, quiz and animated diagram in the course you bought, plus its final skills checklist and a certificate of completion when you finish.
- Access has no time limit for as long as we run the site. If we ever stop offering a course you've bought, or close the site, we'll email you at least 90 days before access ends.
- A bundle gives you the courses listed on it at the time you buy. Courses we add later are sold separately.
- We may improve lessons over time, for example to fix errors or reflect changes in the law. We won't remove a course's core lessons from people who've already bought it.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars and are one-time payments, not subscriptions. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it at its own rate.
- Any sales tax that applies is shown on the payment page before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Launch offer prices are available until the end date shown on the site. After that, the regular price applies. A price change never affects a course you've already bought.
5. All sales are final
You get access to every lesson the moment you buy, so courses are non-refundable once purchased. Please read the course overview and lesson list first. We will always fix billing errors, such as a double charge or a purchase that doesn't appear in your account. The details are in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.
6. Certificates
A certificate shows that you completed every lesson of the course and confirmed, on the final skills checklist, that your pet can do each listed skill. We don't assess your pet ourselves. Please tick only what your pet can genuinely do.
A Treatwise certificate is not a service animal or emotional support animal certification or registration. It gives no legal access rights to housing, flights, shops or anywhere else in the United States or Canada, and it doesn't guarantee how your pet will behave. Presenting it as anything else isn't allowed, and we may withdraw a certificate that's misused or was issued on false information.
7. Training, safety and advice
You're responsible for your pet's safety and for the safety of people and animals around you while you practise. Our lessons are general education. They aren't veterinary, medical or legal advice, and they aren't a substitute for an in-person professional. If your pet is ill, in pain, aggressive or very fearful, please see your vet or a qualified behaviour professional. The legal information in our lessons is general and may not reflect the rules where you live, so check local laws before relying on it.
8. Our content
The lessons, diagrams, quizzes, text and design on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own household's training. Please don't copy, share, resell, publish or record them, give others access to your account, or use automated tools to copy the site.
9. Fair use of the site
Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break its security, access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with how it works. We may suspend or close an account that does any of these things, or that shares course access. If we close your account for reasons other than misuse, we'll tell you why.
10. Responsibility
We work hard to keep the site running and the lessons accurate, but we can't promise the site will always be available or free of errors, or that any particular training result will follow. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, or for injury, damage or loss caused by your pet. Where the law allows us to limit our responsibility, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits responsibility that can't legally be limited, including your rights under consumer protection law.
11. Which laws apply
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere in Canada or in the United States, you keep any protections the consumer laws where you live give you, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live if those laws allow it. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law changes or we add features. We'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects courses you've already bought, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect.
